Chris Locke, with Tom Henry

There’s clearly a demand for top-shelf stand-up comedy in Kitchener-Waterloo. Kicking off a whole season of stand-up nights, charming Chris Locke and deadpan Tom Henry will set a very high comedy bar for others to follow.

Hailed by as “One of Canada’s most staggeringly original comedians…”, Chris Locke says his “style starts off at a relatable place, but then I take it to a very silly and absurd state”.

Chris Locke performs stand up all over Canada and the U.S. in comedy clubs, festivals, and independent venues. His stand up album garnered praise from critics and fans alike, as well as being the #1 comedy album on itunes Canada during it’s first two weeks of release. Chris was the winner of the Canadian Comedy Awards’ 2014 Best Male Stand Up.

Chris has performed at the Just For Laughs festival in Montreal, as a headliner at the JFL42 Festival (Just For Laughs Toronto), SF Sketchfest in San Francisco, Bridgetown Comedy Festival in Portland, North West Comedy Festival in Vancouver, BC., and the NXNE Festival in Toronto.

You can hear Chris’s stand up regularly on Sirius XM radio, and you may have also seen Chris performing sketch comedy on: MTV Canada, HBO Canada, CBC, MUCH, Comedy Network, and CTV.

Tom Henry is a comedian and writer from Toronto. He performs regularly as part of the acclaimed collective Laugh Sabbath, and has appeared at festivals such as NXNE, San Francisco Sketchfest, Bridgetown (Portland) and Just For Laughs.

He’s opened for comics such as Nikki Glaser, Mike Lawrence, Johnny Pemberton and Ian Karmel, and has been a regular on Andy Kindler’s alternative show at the JFL42 festival. He co-wrote and starred in the comedy video, “Hello, What?” which was a featured video on Funny Or Die.
