The last chance for hump-day hilarity this season!

Aisha Brown

Aisha Brown is known as one of the top 3 Aisha’s in North American stand-up comedy. In 2016, she did her first televised gala at Montreal’s renowned Just For Laughs festival, performed at Massey Hall for NYE, and made her headlining debut at Kenny Robinson’s legendary “Nubian Disciples All Black Comedy Revue”. Aisha performs all across Canada at Yuk Yuk’s, and  was named by Mark Breslin as a Canadian comedian to watch. Aisha is a writer and digital content contributor for the CBC Comedy website, you can also catch her stand up on Kevin Hart’s LOL Network as well as performing and writing with Comedy Record’s hip hop comedy collective, Runnin’ at The Mouth. Aisha knocked our socks off when she was here in March for the KW Comedy Festival, and we just had to give you another chance to see her work.

Sandra Battaglini

Sandra Battaglini is an award winning stand-up comic, actor and writer. She is the 2013 Canadian Comedy Award winner for her solo show, Classy Lady, directed by Phil Luzi, that premiered in Toronto in 2012 and most recently was voted ‘Best Female Standup’ by NOW Magazine. She tours with Yuk Yuks and co-hosts two of Toronto’s most alternative comedy nights, Family Slides and The Sal & Sandy Show with Phil Luzi. Sandra appears in David Cronenberg’s latest feature, Maps to the Stars that premiered at TIFF in 2014, CBC’s sketch show Humantown, NBC Seeso’s flagship web series, The Amazing Gayle Pile and upcoming episodes of medical drama Saving Hope and Odd Squad. She is currently in development on original concepts, including Knitterati and Family Slides with Phil Luzi. Sandra appeared as a headliner with KW Comedy Festival in March, and we’re very happy to present her again.

He’s a member of Laugh Sabbath, a group that boasts alumni like Nathan Fielder. Tim released his first album, Please Help Me I Am Very Sick, as a pay-what-you-want download on Bandcamp. Tim has performed across Canada and the US and has appeared multiple times at the Just for Laughs festival in Montreal. Tim’s writing credits include CBC’s 22 Minutes and The Score. featuring Kitchener-connected comics!

A bonus helping of hump-day hilarity!

Your host Nader Mansour

Nader Mansour offers a fresh comedy perspective with his original take on the middle east and growing up as a Christian Arab.

He has performed across North America at comedy clubs and festivals such as: Hollywood Improv, Yuk Yuks, Hollywood Laugh Factory, Flappers Comedy Club Burbank, Border City Comedy Festival, Louisville’s Laughing Derby Comedy Festival, Comcast’s “Trial By Laughter” Indianapolis, and New York City’s “Devils Cup Festival”.

He has appeared on SiriusXM’s Top Comic, and made his national TV debut on the iChannel’s “No Kidding” and “Inside Joke”, as well as an appearance on CBC’s  “Newshounds with Adam Growe”.

Raj Singh

Raj is new to the KW comedy scene with a lifetime of experiences from growing up in a small town Ontario and just trying to fit in.

Married with 3 kids, he shares his experiences ranging from arranged marriages to insomnia and still trying to make sense of it all.

He got into comedy after his daughter told her class during career day that her dad was a Comedian.

He has performed across Canada on the amateur circuit and was the winner the 2017 Bull & Barrel Amateur Contest in London Ontario.

Phil LeConte

Phil LeConte, founding partner of the world famous comedy duo, The Silly People, has formed a unique show involving quick wit, satirical and physical comedy, along with the occasional expert circus skill. Phil is a master at improv, yo-yos, audience interaction, and above all, he exudes fun. He will encourage stupid by using everyday household items, along with the sheer will and determination to get a laugh!

Silly Phil has performed around the globe in over 20 different countries for the last 20 years. You might not fully understand it, but you will most likely pee your pants with laughter.

Mike Wood

Mike Wood was born (against his will) in St.Thomas, Ontario. He paid his way through university as a street performer, catching a catapulted cabbage on a spike on his head. Combining two of Canadas primary exports, comedy and natural resources, Mike is now a comedian with a degree in mine engineering.

Mike has just returned to Canada after living for almost a decade in London, England. While living in London, Mike was a regular at plenty of tiny East London comedy rooms nobody can be expected to have heard of. He was also a semi-finalist in the Amused Moose UK New Comedian Of The Year, which is a big deal and you should feel bad about not having heard of it.

In the future, Mike will be trading shards of broken mirror for the physical affections of his fellow climate refugees. For now, Mike’s thoughtful and concise joke-writing is far and away his most marketable skill.

Hump-day hilarity!

Chris Robinson

Chris Robinson is a young stand up comic and actor who has been performing across North America over the last decade. Now Magazine has described him as having “charisma and raw talent to burn.” He was the winner of the 2016 Second City Emerging Voices Scholarship as well as Sirius XM’s Top Comic $25,000 grand prize. Chris was the runner-up at the prestigious Homegrown competition at the Just For Laughs Festival in Montreal in 2016 where he also taped an appearance on Kevin Heart’s LOL Network. Chris returned to Just For Laughs this past summer to shoot a TV set for The Comedy Network and headlined his own shows at the JFL42 Festival in Toronto. Currently, Chris can be seen on the new sketch series Almost Genius on CMT and in various comedic videos on CBC Comedy.

Paul Thompson

Paul Thompson is one of Toronto’s most respected young crowd killers. The kind of comic who hits the stage like a double-barrel shotgun blast. Riffing and ripping – making razor-sharp turns back and forth between solid material, and raw unfiltered crowd work. Thompson works and lives in the moment, and he can have an entire crowd eating out of his palm.

Hump-day hilarity from the wilds of Minnisota!

Mary Mack

A favorite on radio shows and podcasts around the continent, including Marc Maron’s WTF Podcast, 2 Dope Queens, The Bob and Tom Show, andAmerican Public Media’s WITS, Mary played the leading character Dylan on the Fox cartoon Golan the Insatiable. Her voice has also been heard in the cult favorite Aqua Teen Hunger Force on Cartoon Network’s Adult Swim. She’s appeared on Comedy Central’s Live at Gotham, TBS’ Conan, NBC’s Last Comic Standing and Last Call with Carson Daly.  Her 2015 performances in the Kitchener-Waterloo Comedy Festival were well-received, as was her stint in Montreal’s Just For Laughs Comedy Fest way back before electricity was invented. A hybrid of Minnesota and Wisconsin (with a severe cheese dependency), comedian Mary Mack performs at festivals, colleges, theaters, clubs, or anywhere you can find cheese curds. To see where Mack is performing next, or to check out one of her comedy albums, please visit www.marymackcomedy.com.

You can watch Mary talk about eating your feelings here.

Headliner Tim Harmston

Tim Harmston was only a year into his career when he won Acme Comedy Company’s 2003 Funniest Person in the Twin Cities contest. After winning, a well known headliner said to him “You’re kind of like an idiot, but with smart material”. That winning combination has led Tim to appearances on CBS’s Late Show with David Letterman, Comedy Central’s Live at Gotham, the Bob and Tom radio show, and Wisconsin Public Radio. He is married to Mary Mack and enjoys performing with her despite the horrible faces he makes on stage while she’s talking. Tim’s mom is a nice Canadian lady who grew up in Etobicoke, Ontario. Tim was raised in Wisconsin, United States, and has a severe addiction to cheese and the Green Bay Packers.  (Mary wrote this.)
Watch Tim do his thing on Letterman here.

Back with the Wednesday hilarity for another season!

Headliner Frank Spadone

Frank’s personable accounts of family life have quickly made him a top headliner at comedy clubs across Canada along with being featured in festivals in Australia, South Africa and regular face at the prestigious “Just For Laughs Comedy Festival” in Montreal, Canada. As a Just For Laughs alumni, Frank hosted the 2010 cross Canada JFL Tour, and was then featured as the opening act in Jeremy Hotz’s 2013 National Tour “The Magical Misery Tour”. Along with club performances, Frank’s solo show has also taken him to soft-seat theaters in Canada and the U.S. hitting major cities such as Toronto, Montreal, Ottawa, Hamilton, Vancouver, Detroit and Chicago. Frank’s movie credits include “Harold and Kumar Go To White Castle”, “Take The Lead” and “The Man” and in 2016 he guest-starred on an episode of Mr. D on CBC.

Ryan Maglunob

Ryan Maglunob’s jokes hit like grenades. They may take a second to go off but when they do, audiences explode with laughter. His unique nerdy perspective on life makes for some of the weirdest, yet smartest observations around. Ryan has performed at the Toronto JFL42 festival, North by Northeast (NxNE) festival and his comedy can be occasionally heard on the SiriusXM Satellite Radio station Canada Laughs.

Ryan was selected as a performer on the 2008 Canadian Ethnic Media Awards on OMNI Television and recorded an episode of “No Kidding” airing on iChannel in Canada.

He currently lives in Toronto, Ontario, Canada.
