The Old Chestnuts Song Circle and The Registry Theatre present Folk Night, an exciting mix of Canadian and international performers, with singer-songwriters and traditional (and not so traditional!) musicians bringing audiences the broad and evocative music that makes up “folk”.

Shari Ulrich Trio

Shari celebrates 43 years as a touring recording artist and multi-instrumentalist violin, mandolin, piano, guitar, dulcimer, & harmonica). From Pied Pumkin through The Hometown Band, and on as a solo artist has lead to 23 albums – including her collaboration with Bill Henderson and Roy Forbes (UHF), Barney Bentall & Tom Taylor (BTU), and more recently The High Bar Gang, a 7 piece bluegrass band with Barney Bentall & Colin Nairne.

Her work has garnered 2 Juno awards, several Juno nominations, an induction into the BC Entertainment Hall of Fame, and a 2014 CFMA for English Songwriter of the Year.

Shari is joined by daughter Julia Graff, now 26 with a Masters in Sound Recording from McGill University – an accomplished multi-instrumentlist, busy recording engineer, producer, videographer and photographer. Julia engineered Shari’s most recent solo album “Everywhere I Go”, and has produced 2 videos for the High Bar Gang’s recently Juno nominated True North album.

Rounding out the Trio is fellow High Bar Gang member Kirby Barber.

This is our 12th concert honouring friend Merrick Jarrett.
